Who is the Farmington River Coordinating Committee?

The Farmington River Coordinating Committee is integral to implementation of the Management Plan. The Committee is comprised of representatives from the five river fronting towns, state of Connecticut, MDC, NPS, FRWA, and FRAA. Monthly meetings are typically held at the Committee's office in Squires Tavern; just across the road from Peoples State Forest in Pleasant Valley.

The purpose is to promote long term protection for the segment by:

  • Bringing interested parties together on a regular basis
  • Stimulating cooperation and coordination among the parties
  • Providing a forum to discuss and resolve issues
  • Coordinating implementation of the Management Plan
